Semaglutide Weight Loss Program

At A Defined Image Medical Wellness Centre, what exactly is compounded Semaglutide?

Studies have demonstrated that Semaglutide not only decreases appetite but also enhances food intake regulation while reducing food cravings, in addition to improving glycemic control. The most significant weight loss benefits have been observed when Semaglutide is combined with B12 or lipotropic injections alongside lifestyle adjustments.

At our facility, compounded semaglutide is sourced from reputable compound pharmacies, which maintain rigorous standards and produce compound medications daily to address various medical concerns. With compounded semaglutide, each patient’s medication is specifically prepared and stored in a multiple-dose vial. The medication is administered using insulin syringes.

What are the potential side effects?

Common side effects of Semaglutide include:

Nausea: This is the most frequent side effect, typically occurring within the first 1-2 days after injection. It may be accompanied by mild vomiting. Adjusting the dosage or delaying dose escalation often resolves this issue. More than half of patients experience minimal to no nausea, while only about a quarter experience significant nausea.

Vomiting: Initially, vomiting may occur, often associated with skipping meals and then consuming a large meal or eating too quickly.

Diarrhea: Less common and typically intermittent, potentially due to dietary changes or the effect of semaglutide on the gastrointestinal tract lining.

Heartburn: Reflux is common when taking these medications due to delayed stomach emptying.

Constipation: Very common and intermittent, possibly related to significant reductions in food intake, especially fats and oils.

Fatigue: Skipping meals typically causes fatigue, but it can be significantly exacerbated by these drugs, designed to lower blood sugar in diabetics. Some individuals may experience fatigue and weakness solely from semaglutide administration.

To help patients manage these unpleasant symptoms during medication adjustment, prescription antinausea medications are available for purchase. Our staff will discuss available options during your consultation.

How frequently should the medication betaken?

Semaglutide requires weekly injection. Compounded semaglutide is supplied in vials, and the medication is drawn up using small insulin syringes. During in office visits, the initial dose will be administered by a medical professional to ensure proper technique. Subsequent doses will be self administered at home. Virtual patients will receive instructions on self administration.

What is the refund policy?

At A Defined Image Medical Wellness Centre, our goods and services are non-refundable once they have been administered or used in your treatment. Clients must understand and accept this condition before consenting to treatment. Peptide formulations are personalized for each patient, and once an order has been submitted for compounding, no refunds are available.

Dosing

Semaglutide dosing begins at 0.25 mg weekly and gradually increases over four-week intervals until reaching the target dosage of 2.4 mg weekly. Here is the recommended dosing schedule:

Weeks 1-4: 0.25 mg weekly
Weeks 5-8: 0.5 mg weekly
Weeks 9-12: 1 mg weekly
Weeks 13-16: 1.7 mg weekly
Week 17 onwards: 2.4 mg weekly (maximum dose)
Please note that this is a recommendation. Many patients achieve success with lower doses and choose to maintain them for longer than four weeks. Dose increases are not mandatory. If weight loss stalls or appetite increases, dose adjustments may be made in consultation with our provider.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

In two months, you could lose up to 20 pounds. In four months, you could lose up to 40 pounds or more! You can repeat the program as often as you like!

It’s important to note that every patient is unique, and results may vary. Semaglutide is a tool for weight loss, and incorporating proper diet, exercise, adequate water intake, and other healthy habits is strongly recommended for a successful weight loss journey.
